Jew & Greek is designed to be more than a collection of articles. It is a growing library of resources for studying the Bible, Christian theology, church history, philosophy, religion, and the ideas that have shaped Christian thought. Whether you are researching a particular passage of Scripture, trying to understand a theological doctrine, exploring the differences among Christian traditions, or investigating the philosophical questions behind Christian belief, the goal is to provide a place where those subjects can be explored in depth.
At the center of the site are our Bible study resources, where you can read and study Scripture alongside classic commentaries and other reference materials. Rather than sending readers elsewhere to begin their biblical research, Jew & Greek is being developed as a place where Scripture, interpretation, theology, and historical resources can be brought together. The growing collection of public-domain commentaries and theological works allows readers to interact directly with important voices from Christian history while studying the biblical text.
Our Christianity and theology resources explore the beliefs that have defined the Christian faith as well as the disagreements that have developed within it. Major traditions and movements—including Catholicism, Orthodoxy, Protestantism, Lutheranism, the Reformed tradition, Anglicanism, Anabaptism, the Baptist tradition, Methodism, the Holiness movement, Pentecostalism, and nondenominational Christianity—can be examined within their historical and theological contexts. The purpose is not merely to identify denominational labels, but to understand what Christians believe, why they believe it, and how those convictions developed.
Jew & Greek also explores the broader intellectual world in which Christianity has developed. Our Philosophy resources trace major thinkers and movements from Socrates, Plato, and Aristotle through medieval and modern philosophy and into contemporary debates, while separate studies examine subjects such as metaphysics, epistemology, logic, ethics, philosophy of mind, philosophy of religion, and Christian philosophy. Our Religion resources place Christianity alongside Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and other religious traditions so that their similarities and genuine differences can be understood rather than blurred together.
The library will continue to grow as additional biblical texts, commentaries, historical documents, theological writings, biographies, philosophical studies, and reference materials are added. Some resources provide introductions for readers encountering a subject for the first time, while others are intended for deeper research.
